Below is the 2019 Saturday Men’s Club Schedule and Information
The Saturday Men’s Club at Ironwood gives you the option of a choose-up or a pick your own group game each week. The Men’s Club also has five tournaments throughout the year. Men’s Club participants may play in the Saturday morning choose-up one week and in the pick your own group the next. The Men’s Club utilizes Blue Golf for handicapping and this fee is not included in the Men’s Club Dues. You may play from the Blue, White, or Green tees and handicaps will be adjusted accordingly. Choose-up and pick your own group officially starts on Saturday April 13th.
Saturday Morning Choose-up
The first five tee-times (20 players max) every Saturday morning will have a standard game (team, individual, etc.) with a random draw. The first tee-time will begin at 7:00 during the heart of the season and will have a later start early and late in the year based on sunlight. The choose-up is a cash-in, cash-out $15.00 game.
Pick Your Own Group
Following the Saturday morning choose-up, we will allow Men’s Club participants to pick their own group. We will also run a $15.00 cash-in, cash-out game that is separate from the choose-up. This game will also be a team, individual and skins game format.
Men’s Club Tournaments
The Saturday Morning Men’s Club will host five tournaments throughout the year including the Stroke Play Championship, Match Play Championship, The Wheel, the Red, White, & Blue, and the King of the Hill.
Stroke Play Championship: June 15th
Individual Event: Participants will be broken into flights based on handicap and gross scores will determine flight winners. Championship flight will play 27-holes and the other flights will play 18-holes. The overall net champion will be the low net total after 18-holes and the overall gross champion will be low gross total after 27-holes.
Red, White & Blue (Red, Green, White): July 6th
Individual Event: Two divisions (green tee guys and white & blue tee guys). You play 6 holes from each sets of tees in any order you like. Within each division we will have a net and gross skins game. Low net and low gross winners will be awarded skins.
Match Play Championship: August 3rd, 10th, & 17th
Individual Event: We will have three divisions; Championship, Regular, and Senior. Within your division, participants will be broken into flights of 8 based on handicap and handicap will not be used once you’re in a flight. 18-hole matches will be played three Saturdays in a row. Losers of the first round will be placed in the consolation bracket of their flight. If you lose your second round you will be eliminated from the brackets but we will have a side game the following week.
The Wheel: September 14th
Individual Event: You will receive a partner form when you arrive at the course to fill-out. You will select one partner at no charge for a net best ball game. Your partner can be anyone in the field and you don’t have to play together. For an extra $3.00 per partner, you can select up to 9 additional partners. So, you could have a total of 10 net best ball partners. Payout is to the selector, not the partner you picked. You may win with some or all your partners.
King of the Hill: October 12th
Individual event through qualification: The top 10 individuals in the Player of the Year points will be invited to play in the King of the Hill. If a player in the top 10 is unable to play, the person in the 11th spot will be invited, and so on. Points will be awarded to the top finishers in each tournament throughout the year. Participation points will also be awarded for each tournament and choose-up or pick your own group. The top 10 will start on number 1 with the highest net score being knocked-out. Any ties will have a chip-off. Nine players will advance to the 2nd hole with the same format. The King of the Hill will be the last man standing after the 9th hole.
Men’s Club Registration, Tournament Registration & Fees:
Register and pay for the Men’s Club online. The fee to join and participate in the Saturday tournaments is $75.00. The registration deadline for each tournament is Thursday night, two days prior to the Saturday Tournament. Payout for tournaments will be in golf shop credit. Golf shop credit may be used on items in the golf shop.
