Thursday Night Men's League
League Format: The Ironwood Men’s League is a team league format that plays a 9-hole, two-man best ball match play event. The Men’s League is part of the Ironwood Men’s Club that also has a Saturday tournament and choose-up schedule (information below).
League: A maximum of 40, three to five-man teams on Thursday make up the teams in the league. Two players from each team participate in the match each week. The foursome will be made up of four players participating in the match, not your other teammates. Teammates not participating in the official match are welcome to participate in the weekly games and sub for other teams. Two points are available per hole for 18 points total per match.
Individuals: Individuals may join the league and will be assigned to teams looking for additional players. Please sign up in person
Dates/Time: The league will start in April and will have a 6:00 pm shotgun start. The league will conclude in mid-September with the final playoff matches and banquet. Starting time will be adjusted for sunset during the playoffs.
Men’s League Fees: $275 per team. Men’s club fees are used to pay for two banquet nights, regular season and playoff payouts and to increase the prize pool for weekly games. All men’s club fees must be paid in full by March 31st.
No Show & Sub Policy: Subs are allowed but they must be part of the Men’s League. If two subs are required for your team, you will receive zero points for the week. Guests are allowed to play but must play scratch; no handicap.
Green Fees & Weekly Game: $25.00 per night includes golf and cart. The weekly game (best-ball, skins, & closest to the pin) is $5.00 per person. Yes, both team members must pay $5.00 to participate in the game. $200 from league dues will be added to the weekly game purse ($100 per side).
Playoffs: After the regular season of 19 weeks (you play each team once in your division), the top 16 teams in each division will make the playoffs. If your team loses in the 1st round of the playoffs, you will be placed in a loser bracket, the “toilet bowl”. A player must have at least four handicap scores registered to participate in playoffs. NO SUBS ALLOWED during the playoffs.
