![]() | John R. Scott John R. Scott is head professional at Ironwood Golf Club. He has been a PGA Class A professional since 1994 who has a strong background of successfully managing golf clubs, their food and beverage operations and strong teaching programs. He joined the RN Thompson family of golf courses in 1994 after five years as an assistant at Fox Prairie Golf Club in Noblesvill, Ind. During his assistant days, he was the host of the “19th Hole Golf Show,” a popular, 30-minute TV program promoting golf in Indiana that included tips and rules of the game. He also serves as head golf professional at Gray Eagle Golf Club and Winding Ridge Golf Club, also RN Thompson golf clubs and communities. He coordinates and supervises more than 140 tournaments annually and manages an experienced, knowledgeable and qualified staff with a one goal in mind, to make “golf fun for everyone.” Originally from Carmel, Ind., Scott graduated from Carmel High School. He is married to Karen Scott, who works as his assistant at Ironwood Golf Club. John and Karen work closely with numerous charity golf tournaments and are major supporters of St. Mary’s Child Center in Indianapolis. |
![]() | Karen Scott Karen Scott is assistant manager and director of food and beverage service at Ironwood Golf Club. Originally from Indianapolis, she is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the course, training employees, planning events and helping to direct tournaments. She joined the staff of Ironwood Golf Club after three years as club manager at Winding Ridge Golf Club, also an RN Thompson golf course community. Previously, she was RN Thompson Golf’s marketing director, overseeing advertising, outings and memberships after working 17 years as director of operations and general manager of AMS of Indiana. She is married to John Scott, Ironwood Golf Club’s head golf professional. |
![]() | Michael Jordan Michael Jordan is course superintendent of Ironwood Golf Club. Originally from Indianapolis, he oversees all aspects of golf course maintenance at the club. Prior to joining RN Thompson, Jordan was golf course superintendent for five years at Plainfield Elks Golf Club in Plainfield, Ind., a member of the maintenance crew for two years at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., and oversaw golf course green shaping at Pete Design at Brickyard at the Crossing in Indianapolis. He has won the Pete Dye Scholarship Award for Maintenance Crews for the 1991 PGA Championship hosted by Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. |
![]() | Scott Morris Originally from Indianapolis and PGA professional since 1980, Scott Morris teaches golf to adults and juniors as individuals or groups and is responsible for the planning and development of Junior Golf programs at Ironwood Golf Club, Gray Eagle Golf Club and Winding Ridge Golf Club. An accomplished player, most recently Morris qualified for the 2009 U.S. Senior Open at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Ind. He is a two-time Indiana Section Assistants champion, a two-time Pete Dye National Pro-Am champion and a 15-time Indiana Challenge Cup participant. Prior to joining Ironwood Golf Club, Morris was head PGA professional at Royal Highlands Golf Club in Knightstown, Ind., assistant golf professional at Harbour Trees Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind., and assistant golf professional at Brookshire Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. Today residing in Carmel, he graduated Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis and attended both Depauw and Indiana universities. |
![]() | Butch Penry A former Indiana high school state champion, Butch Penry has been a Class A PGA professional since 1962. His long history in golf includes 29 years as head professional at Killbuck Golf Club and Meadowbrook Golf Club, both in Anderson. He also was head golf coach at Anderson University. A PGA life member, Penry is a former member of the board of directors of the PGA Indiana Section. Originally from Anderson, Ind., Penry graduated from Anderson High School and Anderson University. He lives in Anderson with wife Mary. |
