PGA Junior League –
PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under (Juniors may not turn 14 before August 1) to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. Our teams will compete against other clubs from around the area. The format is a 2-person scramble.
Practices start in April and competitions usually about the time school is out for the summer. The season typically lasts until about mid July.
This is a 2 step registration process. You will pay $160 to Ironwood either in person or online. When you register your child on the PGA Junior League site, you will pay their fee of $75.

14 – 17 Competitive Junior League
Ironwood will be offering a junior league for golfers ages 14-17. (We may accept a few golfers that are not yet 14 if they have demonstrated the ability to be competitive with the older juniors. The league will be on Sunday afternoons with tee times between 3:00 and 4:00 depending on how many we have. The league will start on Sunday, June 4 and end the last Sunday in July, skipping Father’s Day in June. The cost for the season is $199. I will expect all golfers in this league to be able to walk 9 holes in 2.5 hours or less. Everyone will carry or push his/her clubs. We will play by USGA rules and keep score. Your junior does not have to be great, but he/she should be willing play by the rules and keep score and keep up. There will be no weekly prizes. Instead trophies for low average (boys and girls separate), best short game (subjective), most improved, and most times advanced to new tees. (All boys will play white tees. All girls will play red tees. Anyone scoring 41 or lower will play the following week from one tee box further back (boys=blue, girls=white. If they then score higher than 41, they will go back to the original set of tees. We will adjust the score from longer tees in regards to the low stroke average awards. (I want the golfers to look at going to a longer tee as a promotion, not a punishment.) While I want the golfers to have fun, I also want them to experience golf in a tournament format. Pairings will change weekly so friends may not always be paired together. Contact Jan if you are interested.
